Your AI gets a key, not the keys.

Every credential belongs to one dealership. Owners and admins choose the permissions, set a 30, 60, or 90 day expiration, and can revoke access at any time.

Only selected tools

Inventory, leads, test drives, reports, and contact access are separate choices.

Read-only today

Published tools cannot edit a car, change a lead, send a message, or book an appointment.

Revoke at any time

An owner or admin can shut off the key from the AutoFire dashboard.

Use the AI client that fits your team.

Codex and Claude Code have dedicated setup guides. Hosted clients such as ChatGPT may need OAuth support, so check current compatibility before connecting.

Questions from dealership owners

The useful answers, without the protocol lesson.

Ask AutoFire
What is MCP for a car dealership?

Model Context Protocol is a standard way for an AI client to call approved software tools. AutoFire MCP gives the client a defined set of dealership tools instead of open access to your database.

Can AutoFire MCP change inventory or lead records?

No. AutoFire’s published MCP tools are currently read-only. They can search and retrieve approved records, but they cannot edit inventory, change lead statuses, send messages, or schedule appointments.

Can an MCP key see more than one dealership?

No. Each key is permanently tied to the dealership selected when the owner or admin creates it. The AI client cannot supply a different dealership ID.

Can the AI client read customer contact details?

Lead lists exclude names, email addresses, phone numbers, notes, and messages. Retrieving one lead’s contact details requires a separate leads:pii permission selected by an owner or admin.

How long does an AutoFire MCP key last?

Owners and admins can choose 30, 60, or 90 days. A key cannot be extended, and it can be revoked from the dashboard at any time.

Does AutoFire MCP work with ChatGPT, Claude, and Codex?

AutoFire provides setup guides for Codex and Claude Code. Other clients need compatible remote MCP and authentication support. Hosted clients such as ChatGPT may require OAuth, so check the AutoFire client compatibility page for current support before connecting.
