Why connect AutoTrader?
Syndicating to AutoTrader puts your cars next to national competition while your AutoFire site remains your owned home base. A feed-based workflow means your team updates inventory once and both your website and AutoTrader stay closer in sync.
What this means for your dealership
Photo URLs and vehicle descriptions travel with each row so listings stay merchandised the way you intend.
AutoTrader fees and placement are separate from AutoFire subscription pricing.
How it works
- Enable AutoTrader in Distribution and copy the private feed URL for your account team.
- Use separate toggles per marketplace so you control which partners receive which link.
- Refresh or rotate the link from the dashboard when onboarding changes or your security policy requires it.
Partner-side setup
Follow your AutoTrader representative’s instructions for registering the HTTPS feed and validating the file.
FAQ
Does AutoFire replace my AutoTrader contract or listing agreement?▼
No. AutoFire provides your dealership website and the inventory feed endpoint. Commercial terms, listing packages, and support for AutoTrader stay between you and AutoTrader.
Are AutoTrader advertising or listing fees included in AutoFire subscription pricing?▼
No. Your AutoFire subscription covers AutoFire software. AutoTrader bills its own listing, advertising, or lead products separately.
How often does the feed update?▼
The Distribution screen states feeds refresh about every 30 minutes. You can also use “Refresh Inventory Now” to invoke generate_feeds for that feed configuration (see dashboard toasts for timing).
Can I run AutoTrader at the same time as other marketplaces or feeds?▼
Yes. Distribution shows a separate card per platform with its own enable toggle and private token, so you do not reuse the same feed URL across partners.
Does AutoFire guarantee rankings or leads on AutoTrader?▼
No. AutoFire generates inventory exports from your data; AutoTrader controls how vehicles surface and perform in its marketplace.
Which inventory feed platforms does AutoFire support?▼
AutoFire currently generates exports for: Google Vehicle Listings, Facebook Automotive, Cars.com, AutoTrader, CarGurus. Those entries match the FEED_PLATFORMS list in the application source.
